The Alpha Xi Delta (ΑΞΔ) Nu Chapter at the University of Washington—commonly known as AXiD, AZD, or Alpha Xi—is a community of driven and passionate women dedicated to leadership, sisterhood, and academic excellence. Rooted in a strong tradition and forward-thinking values, the chapter empowers members to grow into confident leaders both on campus and beyond.

Alpha Xi Delta was nationally founded on April 17, 1893, with the Nu Chapter established at UW on May 31, 1907. Represented by its signature double blue and gold colors and the pink Killarney rose, the chapter reflects both elegance and strength. Its motto, “The Pen is Mightier than the Sword,” speaks to the power of knowledge, voice, and meaningful impact.
